Silk – The Fabric of Grace

In the world of fashion, what is something that doesn’t comfort nor excite your senses? A reject! Silk is the opposite of that. Any silk fabric can make you feel plush and skittish no matter where you choose to use it. Silk is deemed to be one of the most luxurious fabrics not only due it its lush air but also because of its history. The oldest silk can be dated back to 3600 BC from the Chinese Neolithic era, popularly cultivated in the Henan province which was regarded as the hub of Chinese civilization and settlement of said era. From its inception, silk was used by Chinese royalty and high-ranking officials & personnel that were close to the royal family. The colour of their silk garbs would indicate the itinerary of the royal highness wherein Yellow would mean the royal family would address their subjects or be seen in public and white symbolised a stay-in at the palace.
